Qatar Airways has officially announced its commercial partnership with Inter, which could lead to them becoming the new main shirt sponsors.

The Nerazzurri had used DigitalBits as their jersey sponsor last season, but the crypto-currency company didn’t pay any instalments, leaving the club in a tricky situation. The deal finally came to an end and Paramount+ took over as shirt sponsor at the end of last season. Paramount+ remained Inter’s main shirt sponsor this season, but Qatar Airways was proposed as a long-term replacement, with discussions dating back months. The Zhang family is still working to strengthen the club’s financial situation after a few difficult years. As announced today, Qatar Airways has officially entered into a commercial partnership with Inter, becoming their global airline partner. The multi-year agreement includes branding, hospitality and marketing rights. The agreement will earn Inter around 1.5 million euros this season, a figure that could rise to 20 million euros a year if Qatar Airways were to become the main shirt sponsor.

Inter Corporate CEO Alessandro Antonello spoke of the importance of the commercial partnership. “We are very proud to welcome Qatar Airways to our family as a global partner. This agreement confirms the ever-growing appeal of our brand, now linked to one of the world’s leading airlines, which shares our unwavering commitment to forging links between places and people the world over”, said Alessandro Antonello.
